How long will it take for my application to be processed? |
| A: Approximately one to two months maximum following the next Executive or Council meeting. You will be informed when this is to take place. |

I live overseas. Will my qualifications gained in other countries be accepted? |
| A: If your qualifications are deemed by the Council to be equivalent to those in the UK, your application will be considered favourably. |

How much is the subscription to STSD? |
| A: For the present subscription rate for all membership categories, please email either the Treasurer or Registrar |

Do I send my subscription to the Treasurer at the same time as the application form? |
| A: When you've submitted the information about yourself on the 'Join the STSD' page you will be sent a fuller application form by the Registrar. You will be asked to return the completed form to the Registrar with your initial year's subscription. |

Will I pay the same subscription if I join late in the year? |
| A: The Society's financial year runs from 1st October to 30th September. If you join after June, your subscription will be carried forward into the following financial year. |

Will my details be displayed on the web site? |
| A: Only Corporate Members and Members who teach privately are placed on the web site. Should you wish to 'opt out', you will need to check the question on the full application form sent to you by the Registrar. |

Is the STSD registered according to the Data Protection Act 1998? |
| A: Yes. The Society was first registered in 1986 and recently amended its notification details to include the web site. |
